Getting implants for dentures is a highly personalized process, and our implant dentists in Kirkland, WA want to ensure every tiny detail is accounted for. We take great care to ensure that your smile is tailored to your unique needs and limitations. To get started, we’ll conduct a comprehensive consultation with Dr. Arkadi Razoumovitch where we will discuss your goals and your overall dental health, and obtain detailed 3D scans of your jaw to determine optimal implant placement and determine the best solution for you. Our team will assess whether implant-supported dentures are a suitable option or if any alternative treatments are required.
To facilitate surgical planning and denture creation, we’ll obtain x-rays and impressions of your mouth. Your comfort is important to us, which is why we use sedation dentistry and a minimally invasive approach during implant placement, typically in the front portion of your jaw. Depending on your situation, your denture will be attached to the implants with a ball or bar attachment, and it can be either removable for cleaning or permanently fixed. After surgery, it takes at least three months for the overdenture implants to fuse with your jawbone and for you to heal. During this time, we’ll provide you with a temporary denture until your final denture is ready. We can even modify your existing denture to fit your new implants so you can enjoy an enhanced version of the dentures you know and love.
The Benefits of Implant Dentures
Implants for dentures are so versatile because they combine the strength of dental implants with the convenience of dentures, giving our patients a real choice in their tooth restoration treatment. Their secure attachment to your jawbone means your dentures will provide you with a strong, secure bite, allowing you to leave the messy adhesives behind for good!
Implants for dentures also stimulate the health of your jawbone, transferring biting pressure from your gums to the posts. You’ll look and feel more confident as you regain your health, and you’ll be able to eat a wider variety of foods. Overall, you’ll experience a greatly improved quality of life!
